Yacht Charter in Tallinn: The Complete Guide for 2026

Looking for a yacht charter in Tallinn? You’re in the right place. Whether you want a relaxed afternoon on Tallinn Bay, a private trip to Naissaar Island or a memorable wedding at sea, this guide walks you through everything you need to know before booking — boat options, pricing, the best season to sail, what to bring, and the most common questions first-time guests ask.

We have offered skippered yacht charters from Port Noblessner for over 15 years. Below is the same advice we give friends, family and customers who reach out to us every week.

What Is a Skippered Yacht Charter — and Why Choose One?

A skippered charter means the boat comes with a professional captain. You step on board, sit back, and enjoy the trip while a certified skipper handles the sails, navigation and safety.

This is the easiest way to enjoy a yacht charter in Tallinn because:

If you’ve never sailed before, a skippered trip is the right choice. It’s also the only option we offer at Sailing Estonia — we believe a good day on the water means letting an expert run the boat.

The Three Most Popular Yacht Charter Trips in Tallinn

Most of our guests choose between three formats. Here’s how to pick.

1. Sailing on Tallinn Bay (2–3 hours)

The classic option. We leave from Port Noblessner, sail out into Tallinn Bay, and you watch the city skyline, the medieval Old Town and the Baltic horizon glide past. Perfect for first-timers, birthdays, smaller groups and short-on-time visitors.

2. Visit to Naissaar Island

Naissaar is a wild, sparsely inhabited island 8 km north of Tallinn — pine forests, abandoned Soviet military buildings, sandy beaches and absolute quiet. The yacht trip takes around 2 hours each way; our speedboat option does it in 30 minutes. You can add an island excursion and a swim or barbecue stop.

3. Limousine + Sailing Package

Designed for weddings, anniversaries, VIP guests and unforgettable proposals. You arrive at the harbour in a private limousine, board the yacht for a sail on the bay, and return in style. The most-photographed trip we offer.

You can mix and match — adding catering, professional photography or a sunset slot to any of the three.

How Much Does a Yacht Charter in Tallinn Cost?

Pricing depends on trip length, group size and extras, but here’s what to expect for the 2026 season:

Because the boat is yours for the trip, the per-person price drops sharply with bigger groups. A 6–8 person bachelorette weekend usually works out cheaper per head than a fancy restaurant dinner. Contact us with your dates and we’ll send a tailored quote within 24 hours.

When Is the Best Time to Charter a Yacht in Tallinn?

The Estonian sailing season runs mid-May to mid-September. Within that window:

The bay is sheltered, so most days are easy sailing. We always check the forecast 24 hours before departure and will reschedule for free if the weather turns genuinely bad.

Who Books a Yacht Charter in Tallinn?

In a normal season we host:

If you’re planning a wider Tallinn trip and want to include a day on the water, our Tallinn day trips guide covers how to combine sailing with the rest of the city.

What to Bring on a Yacht Charter

Less than you think. We provide the boat, safety equipment and the skipper. You bring:

  1. Layers — even on a warm day the wind on the bay is cooler than on land. A light jacket or hoodie is enough.
  2. Sunglasses and sunscreen — the reflection off the water doubles UV exposure.
  3. Soft-soled shoes — sneakers or barefoot. No black soles, no heels.
  4. Snacks and drinks — or let us arrange catering for you.
  5. A camera — the Tallinn skyline from the bay is one of the most photogenic angles in the Baltics.

Towels, blankets and a small speaker are usually on board. Anything special — a cake, flowers, a ring — just tell us in advance and we’ll help arrange it.

Where We Sail From: Port Noblessner

We depart from Port Noblessner (Tööstuse 48, 10416 Tallinn), a beautifully restored shipyard turned marina, gallery and restaurant district. It’s a 10-minute drive from the Old Town and 5 minutes from the cruise terminal. Plenty of guests build their day around Noblessner — coffee at one of the cafés, a sail, and dinner at one of the harbour restaurants when they return.

Have a look at how the yacht meets the city in our photo gallery — most images are shot within the bay.

  2. We send a quote and confirm availability — usually within 24 hours, often faster.
  3. Pay a small deposit to lock the boat in. The rest is due on the day of the trip.

That’s it. We handle the rest — skipper, fuel, route, safety and tips for the day.

Frequently Asked Questions about Yacht Charter in Tallinn

Do I need any sailing experience to book a yacht charter in Tallinn? No. All our trips are skippered, meaning a professional captain runs the boat. You just enjoy the sail.

How many people fit on the yacht? Up to 12 guests on a typical sailing yacht. Larger groups can be arranged on request.

Can we bring our own food and drinks on board? Yes. You’re welcome to bring snacks and drinks, or let us arrange catering. Glass is fine. We have a cooler and basic glassware on board.

What happens if the weather is bad? We watch the forecast closely. If conditions are unsafe or genuinely unpleasant, we reschedule for free or refund your deposit — your choice.

Can children come along? Absolutely. Family trips are very common in July and August. We carry child-sized life jackets.

Is the trip suitable for non-swimmers? Yes. You stay on the deck the entire time and wear a life jacket when needed. The yacht is stable and the bay is sheltered.

How early should I book a yacht charter in Tallinn? For peak summer (June–August) and weekends, 4–6 weeks ahead is safest. Off-peak you can often get a same-week booking.
